37 weeks and a couple days
Our growing baby is coming soon!! We're now full term! 37 weeks...I never thought we would see this day! It always seemed so far off. Praise God we are here!!
Went to the doctor today, as every Monday! No real news...lost half a pound. Who knew? I've been so hungry these past weeks. I want desert/sugary things constantly!
Our little baby is moving nearly constantly. She's got so much energy when she's not sleeping! She even hurts sometimes because she kicks so hard. But it's all worth it! I'm really looking forward to seeing her! That's what I keep telling people. We are soooo excited! I keep looking at my belly in amazement...there is a full size baby in there, a real live baby! Wow!!
Ecclesiastes 11:5
"Just as you do not know the path of the wind and how bones are formed in the womb of the pregnant woman, so you do not know the activity of God who makes all things." :)
In other news...my "first baby" my book "How & Why to Pray for Healing, Pray in Tongues & Give Prophecy" is now for sale! You can check it out at growinginJesus.com and even buy a copy through the website! It will soon be available on Amazon.com too.
Thanks for listening!

36- yippie!
Monday was another doctor's appointment (one every week now!).
Gained 3 pounds, and doctor measured baby- the uterus is up to 40 cm, and the doctor was surprised, saying, "She's full size! It's at the size where you could give birth next week!"
:-o
Needless to say, we were a bit surprised! But we like this news!
I must say, I think baby has "dropped," as they say. My body is SO sore around where the legs connect to the torso- groin area - and I can barely walk sometimes! Some serious changes this week. I really, really struggle with getting up from anywhere- sitting, lying down in bed, you name it. Standing is getting really tough too, and backaches are getting worse! This baby is coming soon!!!
On thebump.com, I read a list that I would like to share:
You know you’re super pregnant when...
Yep! All true :)

You know you’re super pregnant when...
- You're more concerned with whether or not you possess the ability to physically rise from the bed for the twenty-seventh time to pee during the night than you are about whether or not you'll ever get back to sleep when you're done.
- When you wake your DH up in the morning making grunting noises from across the room because you can no longer bend over to tie your shoes.
- When your DH is entertained by the feat of gymnastics you have to perform in the morning just to get your pants on.
- When a walk to the bakery across the street involves a bathroom stop on the way there and a bathroom stop on the way back!
- You can clean up almost an entire living room full of toys with your feet....and your kids are doing the same thing behind you!!!
- You rest your bowl of cereal on your belly like a table top.
- When you need your husband to actually PUSH you out of bed because you can't sit up or roll
- When putting on socks is an Olympic event
- Getting off the floor looks like a break dancing move you haven't mastered yet
- You wait for someone to walk by before you try to pick something up so they will see and offer to help!

35 weeks!!! Whoa.
This is REAL! We are going to have a baby within the next 5-6 weeks!!!! Hallelujah!
Wait, WHAT!?
I think I've finally starting getting a bit nervous. I'm not feeling very confident about having a baby to take care of all the time! But at the same time, I'm so super excited. It's like I can't decide exactly what I'm feeling. It's crazy.
Monday I have another doctor's appointment. It's getting harder and harder to walk around--especially hard to walk up the stairs. I'm always out of breath! It takes me like half an hour to recover! (Probably not actually a half hour...exaggerating of course!) I wonder if I will have gained the normal weight (2 pounds? One per week apparently is good at this point.)
Baby is still moving around so much! It's pretty much constant now, I almost don't notice sometimes! But I see waves across my belly and I feel her moving. I can't believe how big she must be in there already. It's like, whoa. I have such little energy, and she has so much!! :)
Tomorrow we have our last birthing class. It's all about baby care, hooray! I wonder if we'll have little dolls to put clothes on, haha. Probably not, it's not that hands on. Last week's birthing class was terrible- we watched a video with pregnant moms dressed up in white bodysuits from the 70s and men with huge hair and big glasses that rubbed their wives while their wives faked contractions for the purpose of the video! ha. I feel like our practice breathing through fake contractions does absolutely nothing to prepare me for labor. I always feel ridiculous and like, how am I supposed to know from this how a contraction feels?
Today on thebump.com, there was a disucssion titled: "Things I'm looking forward to after birth". Here is one of the answers that I laughed out loud about because it's exactly how I feel right now:

If you can't read it, it says, "Being able to think, "I'm going to stand up now," without thinking about how to go about doing it..." :) That's really how I feel!!
We still have so much to do before baby comes. I sure hope she isn't early! haha. We have to get the crib (this CAN happen after she's born though, since we have a bassinet for now,) I have to wash her clothes and diapers, get Romeo neutered (lol, poor guy,) get a car seat and install it...and become mentally prepared! (Does that actually happen?) I sure hope we get all the necessary things done in advance! Pray for us :)

33 weeks & counting!
Do you realize that we could have a baby here in this household between 4-7 weeks?!
Wow.
Our baby shower was amazing. My mom did an awesome job of planning and making these amazing cupcakes with fondant and gum paste (which we learned about at a class we took together!) Plus, lots of people worked together to make it happen. We were amazingly blessed with love and showered with the gifts we needed! It was so much fun, too.
Monday was another doctor's appointment. She's grown to 37 cm high (well...the uterus, that is!) and she is apparently in the right position. I also lost 4 pounds in the past two weeks (before that I had gained 8 in three weeks! Weirdo body.) So that's what's going on in the doctor appointment world of pregnancy. Still spending very little time with the doctor!
We just had our third birthing class this past Monday. We really enjoyed the first two classes, but this last one I was antsy the entire time, bored from sitting and staring at a screen. (Yet all my days of college were filled with such things! How did I ever do that?) Then, we went on a tour of the labor and delivery section of the hospital, as well as the recovery rooms and the nursery. We saw the babies!! They were absolutely adorable and beautiful little humans.
---I am actually housing one right now!---
Baby girl is moving around so much these days. She's poking out with elbows and feet(?) while I can barely stand up when she's pressing on my bladder. I also am getting up 3-4 times every night with a somehow FULL bladder each and every time! Like my friend Rose and I said, I guess God uses this experience to prepare us for when baby is here and waking up at night just as frequently as our pee breaks :)
Speaking of Rose, she had her beautiful baby girl last week. She is so precious and I'm really looking forward to getting to know her, especially since she and our baby will be so close in age!! How special is that!?
In other news (non-baby related) I'm getting ready to release my first book! "How & Why to: Pray for Healing, Pray in Tongues & Give Prophecy." It's been a long time coming, so I'm feeling great about it--it's about time that it comes out! It will be sold on amazon.com as well as createspace.com, but I'll be sure to share more on all of that at another time!
With love & blessings & so much excitement for the next month and a half,
Jen *

28 weeks and counting!
Yesterday was my 28 - week Dr. appointment. Here's the only stat I have:
I gained 2 pounds. That's good, right? Lol, gain 9 one month and only 2 the next. I mean, obviously I'm glad I did not gain 9 again this month, but it's so crazy how the body gains one month and the next not so much.
Doctor's appointments are still really boring and uneventful. I am looking forward to the birthing classes at the hospital. They start the day after my baby shower (Baby shower: 9/11, Birthing classes: 9/12). I'm also quite excited about the baby shower, and next week is my birthday! Lots of exciting things going on. Turning a quarter of a century this year :) So I will be 25 when this little one makes her appearance!
I think my body is finally kind of adjusted to having a baby in there, all the extra weight. I used to be in pain a lot and unable to figure out where to put my legs and how to sit and how to stand up, all of that, but I think I have trained my body now! (For now anyways!)
There is going to be a baby here in less than three months!!!

26 Weeks!
So...my tracker on TheBump.com says that there are 98 days until Baby's due date! Whoa! 98 days!? 182 have already gone by!? Crazy!! That means next Friday is the third trimester (If you divide 40 weeks by 3, each 13.33333 weeks is a new trimester.) Wow!
So I went to Kingdom Bound this week. Jamie and I watched Baby moving every night-Baby was our entertainment! She had me giggling and giggling. Then one day (Wednesday) I slipped on the steps and landed on my butt. Ouch. But thankfully, one of the other women who was with us at KB used to be a Labor & Delivery nurse, so she calmed my fears. But then then, I think Baby has turned around because her kicks haven't been as strong as they were last week. I called the doctor today, and they reassured me too.
Yesterday Rick & I went grocery shopping, and I placed an eggplant in Rick's hand. That is the approximate size of our Baby right now. :) Here is what I've read about Week 26---
*She is between 13.6 to 14.8 inches long, and weighs between 1.5- and 2.5 pounds. I want to go pick up an eggplant again :)
I'm going to do my registry today, and soon Baby Shower invitations will be sent out. I can't believe it-- only 3 months and a week until Baby is due! 98 days!
Thank you for your prayers :)

25 Weeks :)
Our Baby is getting STRONG! Yesterday, Rick & Paul & I went to Toronto for the day. Unfortunately, it was drizzling ALL MORNING and early afternoon. We had planned to go to the beach on these cute islands...so we did that but we got soaked and it wasn't much fun. It's probably really pretty and cute there when it's sunny.
Anyway, we got to dinner time and as we were waiting for our food, Baby Girl kicked me SO HARD in like...the bladder or somewhere inside me that I cried! That was crazy. She really is getting big!
A few days ago, I cleaned up her room a bit, and we added the second major piece of furniture (the first was the free changing table!) It's one of my old dressers from when I was 12 through my teen years. It's pretty and white, and we really like it. I'm so excited to put all the clothes I have from garage sales and gifts from her grandparents in it :)
Plus, since we're using cloth diapers, I think the first drawer may be diapers and cloth wipes. We have another dresser to pick up of mine from Uncle Mark's too, so we definitely have enough space for her clothes and even some junk! haha.
Well, that's about it for now. We love baby!

24 weeks, 3 days :)
Everyday I am more and more amazed at how there is a real, living, moving, growing baby inside of me! She (yes, in case you had not yet heard, Baby is a girl! Much to our surprise!) is getting so much stronger! I feel her nearly constantly, from morning to night, most commonly when I am sitting either in bed or on the couch. I've also felt her while swimming. Friends and family have also started to feel her, and if you want, I welcome you, too!
I had another doctor's appointment today, with a glucose test. I didn't expect that, and it wasn't the most fun thing. Had to drink a bottle of liquid that was very similar to flat orange pop/soda. Had lots of sugar in it! Then I had to wait for one hour. During that hour, I was bored, sleepy and nauseous! I haven't felt nauseous for a while, so I was a bit surprised by that one. But apparently that was from the liquid.
Then they drew 3 vials of blood and will get my results back to me in a couple days. I sure hope I pass, because I hear that if I don't, I have to come back for a three hour test! It's a shame they don't tell me exactly what they are looking for.
So the rest of the doctor visit was...boring. Of course. But this time I only had to wait 20 minutes instead of an hour and a half like last time.
Uterus is now at 24 cm (as compared to 21 last time).
I GAINED 9 pounds! Which brings total pregnancy weight up to 16 pounds, which is still within normal and good range. I didn't notice any different eating habits this month (except I had ice cream a few times!!) so I'm not sure how this happened, but okay! It is what it is. And since I lost weight last time and a month earlier, I'm still on track.
Oh, and baby's heartbeat was steady and loud, of course.
Rick and I have been excitedly reading about what Baby is doing now. She can hear outside of the womb! (That makes sense--whenever my mom wants to feel Baby, she says, "Kick me!" and Baby kicks!! It's funny :) ) She is about 1.25 pounds and 13.5 inches long. (Check that out on a ruler--it's amazing how big that actually is!)
That's it! Only about 3 months and 2 weeks left til her due date!!! <3

Week 20, day 4 (Official due date: November 13, 2011)
Believe it or not, I'm now half-way through this pregnancy!
And we definitely know Baby's gender!! If you don't know yet (and want to!), please send us a message :) We love to tell people individually.
Just went to the doctor today. Waited for 1.5 hours in the waiting room with about 10 other pregnant women, including one due next week, one just 8 weeks pregnant, and even a 2 week old born baby! (Man! Was that baby ever precious!!! I can't wait for mine!!)
Here's what I learned at the doctor's:
*My uterus is now at 21 cm (last time it was 18 cm)
*Baby still has a lovely and steady heartrate!
*I actually lost a pound since the last appointment (!?) I really thought I would be gaining with all the junk I ate!! lol. That makes 7 pounds gained since pregnancy began.
*The doctor's office did not receive any calls from the anatomy scan ultrasound peeps, so that generally means that there were no problems with Baby's current development.
Other fun things about pregnancy so far!
*I feel baby ALL the time!!! Rick got to feel Baby for the first time at our friend Corey's wedding in PA! Feeling Baby move is so much fun and exciting. It's easy to recognize Baby moving now, and even I can see movement from the outside too!
*I keep the sonogram pictures in my purse, so anytime I want too see Baby, I just whip them out :)
*My belly is most definitely protruding! It's even getting in the way of doing things...like dishes! I have to stand back from the sink! And it's getting pretty darn close to the steering wheel in the truck. I will learn!
*So much planning to do! I love looking at all the cute things. Although...sometimes it becomes QUITE overwhelming. But I'll get through it! hehe.
That is about it for now! More later, friends!

Week 17
First of all, sorry for not posting for a few weeks! Oh well.
Second, I'm very sorry, but I have no more pictures...Rick left the charger somewhere that is not here, so I'm not very happy about that!
On to baby stuff!
We had another doctor's appointment this past Monday (yesterday), and heard baby's delightful heartbeat! And discovered that my uterus grew 7 cm since last month's appointment, and I've gained 7 pounds since the beginning of the pregnancy. And apparently that is a perfect number for 17 weeks!
I've also been feeling almost ZERO nausea, praise the Lord! No really, it's awesome. Now I just feel huge and stretching constantly, but I definitely prefer it to sickness. However, I still threw up once a week for two weeks now. Once on Scott's lawn! lol, oops!
I've also been feeling Baby!!! I am very happy about that :) It's so much fun.
I do feel sad for Rick though, because he can't feel Baby move yet. Soon enough he will!
Next week Wednesday we find out our Baby's gender! Aren't you all excited to know!? hehe.
I've done some more research into Cloth Diapers and I'm excited about it. It will be like a trillion billion times cheaper than disposables. All the diapers I need for about $250 vs. like $3,000 for baby's disposable diaper career! And there are lots of other benefits too.
So, I'd love to see opinions about what Baby's gender is. Leave a comment with your guess!
Love,
Jen <3

15 weeks (and one day!)
15 weeks definitely seems like a foreign concept. An awesome foreign concept!!
So, this past week has been pretty much terrible. I had a migraine from Wednesday night until Friday morning, and I threw up 4 times because of it. Apparently headaches are common in the second trimester because of the increase in blood flow. Wow, my body does not adjust well! So I had a couple of awful awful days. And of course, I had to throw up today too, which was pretty random, considering I felt almost perfect. Total bummer!
So I'm taking a break from working with Christian Home Companions for a while because my sickness is so unpredictable. The ladies I've been working with also suddenly switched to 3-6 PM instead of 11:30-2:30 because the one who has problems is going to go to an Adult Memory Care Center during the day. And because Rick needs to be picked up between 3:30 and 5 PM, it's kind of not really a possible schedule change.
So I'm looking for things to do! If you're around and you're free, give me a call! If I'm feeling good, I want to hang out! haha. It all depends. Today I'm going to see Wicked with mom, which is awesome, yay! And last minute but that's better than nothing! :)
So this is me with Baby belly, week 15!!
Other pregnancy symptoms:
And everybody, I mean everybody thinks our little growing Baby is a boy! Including us. Rick & I have felt from the beginning that Baby is a boy, someone has had a vision of our baby boy, and everyone's always giving boy guesses. There was a single girl guess out of them all, but I figure that's only one. haha. So Baby may be a boy! But we're still not sure if we are going to find out with the ultrasound on June 15th. I seriously want to find out, but Rick doesn't...I'm going to try to convince him!
Well, that's it for today! With love, Jen & Baby!
- nausea (surprised?? I thought this was supposed to STOP when 2nd trimester came!)
- tired and uncomfortable almost all the time
- sore and growing breasts (of course!) I was bummed when I tried on my last bathing suit...needs a new one for that reason :(
And everybody, I mean everybody thinks our little growing Baby is a boy! Including us. Skipped a week!
Oops! I skipped a week.
So, 14 weeks now.
WE HEARD BABY'S HEARTBEAT ON MONDAY!!!!!
Such a relief! <3 SUCH a relief! I was so excited after hearing the heartbeat, because last year we never heard a heartbeat. Rick & I are so excited! Baby will be here less than 6 months! Wow.
I'm feeling physically much better. Only threw up twice this week and once was from a migraine. Yay!
Still feeling a little woozy at times.
Christie came to visit this week! Only two days, but it was SO awesome. Wonderful to have her around to talk and chat with. What a blessing!
Rose and I took pregnancy photos yesterday together. She's 21 weeks and I'm 14. Fun!
I went to a few garage sales today and found two baby books! Yay! For 50 cents each. Perfect. And a pregnancy calendar, too. Mom even asked me about the baby shower today too. Things are getting exciting! And I posted on facebook so now my old friends know too! Fabulous!
May God continue to bless baby with growth and beauty and strength!

April 29: 12 weeks!
So, today is 12 weeks. 12 WEEKS! Big milestone here, my friends. I love what the bottom ticker says, "Now in the second trimester, most of Baby's systems are fully formed." This is what I'm praying for! But my doctor's appointment is not until 9 days from now, which keeps me on edge.
Dreamed last night that(well, I had a lot of very vivid and realistic dreams--I actually thought I was awake!) anyways, last night I dreamed that I was at a youth group sleepover and there were some married Indian women there who noticed I was pregnant and they were pregnant too. They asked how far along I was, and I saw 3 months (which is true and accurate!) Funny.
Current Symptoms:
- More stretching, although I still can't tell for sure if it's from the uterus stretching or from throwing up so much.
- I've thrown up every single day this week. At first it was in the AM but for two days it's been at night, after dinner :( I really don't like that much.
- I can feel my uterus with my fingers, and so can Rick. It's so cool. I wonder about Baby all the time!!
- Soreness in breasts (of course).
- Still peeing all the time!
- I don't want to throw up anymore! Lately it's been paired with lots of crying too because I'm so tired of it.

Shoot.
Dang. I wanted so bad to be done puking...but there I just went again! Ugh...
But Baby I love you!!
But Baby I love you!!
11 weeks today :)
How's everyone doing? Knowing I have a baby in there is just so cool!
Okay, here's some updates on how everything has been :)
1. I've been thinking about twins a lot. I know it sounds silly, but it IS possible. At the doctor's a few weeks ago, when he pressed down hard to feel my uterus, he walked away, saying, "2 Fingers...(which as I've discovered, is not usually felt until a while later!)...are there 2 babies in there, or one?" I said, "I don't know." And he asked if I had seen 2 heartbeats at the sonogram, but then he remembered that I was only 5 weeks at the sonogram so that would have been impossible to hear any heartbeats! So, I've been thinking this week that I could be having twins!
Then I had a dream that mom read the doctor's notes off a picture of a sonogram. It said, "Twins, girls." lol.
We still think Baby is a boy...but we'll see :)
2. I threw up once this week, but mostly feel fine everyday except right when I wake up or around 3-5 PM. Then I get queasy. And sometimes after that too. It all depends. I really do not want to throw up anymore!!! PLEASE. Thanks. It's really tiring to throw up and feel nauseous all the time. It's like a part time job because I can't do anything else but feel sick! Even reading is stressful because I just want to lie down and sleep!
3. This week, and I can't tell if it's because I've been sneezing so much (and dry heaving) but it feels a bit like my uterus is stretching. Like my abs feel like they got a work out (Actually, to be honest, I'm not really sure what exactly it feels like when my abs get a workout...it's never really been done! haha!) but it does feel different. Grow baby/babies grow! :)
4. I'm really sorry for those who have asked me/Rick to hang out. I just do not have the energy or the stamina to do so just yet. But it is week 11, so it should all go uphill from here! :)

Approximately 10 weeks along...
In the past few days, I have been FAR LESS nauseous, praise God. But I did throw up at youth group on Monday night at the movie theater (yes, inside the theater, not in the bathroom...) so embarrassing. It caused a bit of a ruckus, I'm sure more than a few people are now wondering if I'm pregnant. Or maybe they think I was foolish and went to a youth group event while sick. Haha. Caitlyn bugged me on facebook chat after youth group was over, so I finally gave in and told her why I had been feeling sick and tired recently, and why I threw up so gracefully at the theater...lol. Ack. We'll tell everyone soon enough.
Monday morning was also a doctor's appointment. A very...noneventful doctor's appointment, unfortunately. No listening for heartbeats or trying to see baby on sonagram. Boring! No information that I was really looking for, only that my blood tests came back fine. No HIV! lol...I didn't suspect otherwise. Oh, and the doctor pressed down really hard on my abdomen, to ensure that there is a hard uterus down there. Oh good. haha.
But I've still been quite tired, and quite uncomfortable. I have kind of a gagging every so often instead of feeling perpetually sick. That worried me for a few moments, but it seems that this is the time when symptoms may start winding down. Yay!
I believe this ticker (below) will be changing continually according to the date, (if it works right!)

Well never mind...
I spoke too soon.
Threw up minutes after that last post. How ironic!
Just remembered another pregnancy symptom I've been having. Heavy blood pumping. Like, I feel my blood pumping! It makes me really out of breath. But I had my blood pressure taken on Sunday and it was perfect! lol, strangeness.

Somewhere between 8 and 9 weeks.
And oh man am I ever feeling ill. Today may be the worst.
I've had so much GAS (I am disgusting!) and I'm always tired and always not feeling good. No throwing up (yet!).
Everyday I pray for and talk to Baby. I get nervous, but then I have days like this when I think, "Wow, there's so many pregnancy symptoms right now that Baby must be fine." Please continue praying! Baby is so special to us.
Our next doctor's appointment is Monday @ 8 AM. Yes, it's early, but I pray we will be able to hear/see a heartbeat! Oh Lord God protect our baby, I pray for life!
I find myself too tired and too sick feeling to do basically anything around the house. This is really irritating to Rick. I don't think he really understands how awful I feel. I do feel sorry for leaving the dishes and that the house doesn't look awesome, but hey, I'm growing a baby, right!? I need to rest. I get sooo tired, and sooo sick feeling it's crazy. I've never felt like this in my life. I'm also having trouble getting comfortable in bed.
This pregnancy is so different than last year's. Last year's I had barely any pregnancy symptoms. I had rare morning sickness (very slight for just a few moments each time), and I don't remember feeling tired at all. That's good, I'm pretty sure!
Right now, Baby has eyes, and little tiny limbs! Baby is between .5 and .9 inches long :) YAY! So tiny.

It's true!
There is indeed a teensy weensy tiny baby growing inside of me right now!
I cannot express my pure joy and excitement at the thrill of having our very own baby! We are calling this baby in my womb simply "Baby".
Treating "Baby" like a name works very well.
For example, today I told Rick, "Ohhh I feel nauseous."
He replied, "Oh it's the food. MSG."
I said, "No, it's Bayyyybeee!"(SMILE!)
Probably the opposite from other first trimester mommies, I actually appreciate the nausea I've experienced, almost daily. Sure, it slows me down and doesn't feel so great, but every time it comes, I know that my body is supplying Baby with good levels of the right hormones, keeping Baby developing! And any proof I have of that is worth almost any pain, even nausea. I take it with a smile (at least for now!) because of what lies behind the nausea! Yay!
According to our ultrasound at the hospital on Tuesday night, Baby is about 5 1/2 weeks along, (although I think the timing is off somehow, since well, there was no possibility for conception on that day...lol), with a due date of November 13 (that's the day before my mom's birthday!)
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is..I'M SO EXCITED!!!!!!! I wish there were more concrete ways to know that Baby is still growing and still healthy, but for now, I'll take what I can get.
And we are constantly praying for Baby. So please pray along with us. Specifically, for my body to produce the right hormones, and right now for the spinal cord and brain to develop correctly, for Baby's heart, digestive tract, sensory organs, arms and legs to develop PERFECTLY. This Baby is so wanted!
Thanks all!
Love,
Jen :)
